BACKGROUND
Demanding work schedules are a fact of life in modern, 24-hour society. Goods are produced and services are provided at all hours of the day and night. Because of this, people are required to work at all hours. These kinds of work schedules can be quite a strain and can affect a worker’s safety or health. Mistakes from a fatigued shift worker also can affect the public’s safety or health.
The specific objectives of this seminar were to :
- Understand factors that influence the health and safety of shift-work.
- Understand the strategies to cope with shift-work in the workplace.
- Promote education and training for workplace health.

Dr. Abdul Baktiansyah,MKK
He has experienced in Occupational Health& Safety and Industrial Hygiene for almost 30 years. He was graduated from Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University in 1979 and Master of Science in Occupational Medicine, University of Indonesia in 2004. He started his career as Occupational Health practicioner at PT. Ekspan Kalimantan, he later became Chief Medical Officer and then Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Coordinator at PT. Medco Energy. His Expertise and experienced give him a very broad perspectives in handling any issues related to Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene.
